A 34-year-old man was arrested by Tirana police this Thursday after being the author of 16 cases of theft of premises in the capital, taking sums of money.
According to the police report, Ergi Gjeçi, 34, who was under house arrest for the same offense, was arrested. Meanwhile, it is learned that the 34-year-old committed the thefts during August and September.

As a result of investigative actions carried out based on reports from local administrators in different areas of the capital, for theft by breaking into entities, of products and sums of money, the services of Police Commissariats No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 finalized the coded operation “Broken Door”, during which the services of Commissariat No. 1 detained the suspected perpetrator of 16 of these cases, citizen E. Gj., 34 years old.
From these actions, it is suspected that the detainee, during the period August-September 2026, has stolen by breaking and entering, amounts of money and products, in 8 premises in the territory under the jurisdiction of Commissariat No. 2, in 4 premises in the territory under the jurisdiction of Commissariat No. 3, in 2 premises in the territory under the jurisdiction of Commissariat No. 1 and in 2 premises in the territory under the jurisdiction of Commissariat No. 4.
Further verifications revealed that the 34-year-old was under house arrest for the criminal offense of “Theft”.
Investigations continue to fully uncover and document the criminal activity of citizen E. Gj., in the field of theft.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
