The Supreme Court has decided not to accept the appeal of doctors Elona Burba and Petrit Rexhepi, leaving the decision of the Court of Appeal in force.
Two doctors have been found guilty of “negligent medical treatment” in connection with the case of Doriana Haka, the ex-wife of former goalkeeper Alban Hoxha, who lost her life after giving birth to her first child.
In its decision, the Supreme Court reasons that the necessary examinations were not performed during the patient’s treatment, assessing that this is related to the consequences that led to the loss of her life.
With the final decision, the decision given by the Appeal remains in force.
