Taxes begin refunding, over 517 million lek for families with children

The Tax Directorate has announced that the reimbursement of 517,731,642 lek has begun for beneficiary individuals who have declared 1 or 2 dependent children in DIVA 2025.

Two days ago, the Tax Administration announced the launch of refunds for 34,263 individuals who declared 1 or 2 dependent children in their Individual Annual Income Tax Return for 2025 and resulted in overpaid tax.

According to the announcement, the refund process is based on DIVA 2025 data and includes individuals who, after the annual declaration of personal income, have been found to have paid more tax than the actual liability. The respective amounts will be returned to citizens in the bank accounts declared by them.

The refund is seen as a fiscal relief for families with children, aiming to support their well-being and return overpaid taxes to citizens. The Tax Administration emphasizes that the benefit is related to the correct declaration of income and dependent children.

The process also aims to promote accurate declaration and increase the efficiency of tax administration, making the system more transparent and more service-oriented towards citizens.

Payments will be made to the beneficiary individuals in the declared bank accounts, while citizens who have correctly completed the declaration and have resulted in overpaid tax will benefit from a refund of the relevant amount.
