The investigation into the death of Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis is focusing on a message he allegedly sent to the arrested doctor the day before his fatal visit to the clinic. In the message, Mazonakis expressed uncertainty about the treatment he would undergo and the amount he would have to pay.
According to the material, the singer asked whether the payment was 3 thousand or 6 thousand euros and wrote that he was not able to give such amounts. He also mentioned the possibility of a hydrotherapy treatment.
This communication is being reviewed by authorities to better understand what had happened before his death and what the arrangements were for the treatments to be carried out at the clinic.
Another important element of the investigation is the opening of the phone records of the people involved. Investigators are expected to analyze phone calls, messages and other data, including material that may have been deleted.
It is not yet known exactly how many people were at the clinic on Karneadou Street when Mazonakis died. Authorities are comparing communications before and after the incident with the evidence provided so far.
Meanwhile, the results of toxicological and histological analyses are also awaited, which will help determine, among other things, whether the singer was sedated during the procedure. The investigation is ongoing and final responsibilities have not yet been determined.
