Actor Genc Fuga has spoken about his 20-year relationship with his wife, actress Eni Jani, indicating that the couple has not followed any “formula” for the longevity of their relationship, but has chosen to live in the moment and support each other.
Invited to the show “Mes’ditë”, Fuga showed that friendship, support and complementing each other have been important elements in their shared journey.
Genc Fuga: Time is something relative. We had decided to enjoy the moment, the second, then the minute, the week…we didn’t assume that we would stay for 20 years. Maybe that was the secret. Before the relationship, I was convinced that perfection does not exist, but it is worth striving for it. This whole journey needs an ally, a friend, a feeling, many things. There are two gears that intertwine with each other and make the whole machine move. This is the secret, to complement each other. There is no formula.
The actor also admitted that even after two decades of marriage, he still feels jealousy. He described it as a human feeling, also related to the insecurities that everyone may have.
“I get jealous even after 20 years of marriage. As long as you love the same…jealousy is simply an individual’s insecurity. Even in my profession, I have my insecurities. But I don’t think that…it’s a human feeling, everyone has it. You consider it yours, your “work”, said Fuga.
During the interview, Fuga was also surprised by a video message from his wife. Eni Jani spoke about the relationship they have built over the years, highlighting the friendship, mutual respect, understanding and space they have given each other for their personal passions and desires.
Eni Jani: I couldn’t help but send this message and surprise Genci. I’m very happy that we both knew how to build a relationship beyond the traditional one. We knew how to be friends and one of our basic things has been respect. Respect for each other’s spaces, passions, understanding of each other’s desires. I’m very proud that we have built a relationship, which is a very good model for our daughters. From the challenges that life has brought us, we have always known how to look at the good things and move forward.
The video message from his wife moved the actor, who did not hide his tears. In the end, Fuga responded to Eni with the words: “I am at a loss for words at this moment, I love you very much.”
