Kreshnik Spahiu appeared in a different story on the Grida Duma Podcast, where he speaks without filters about the changes he has undergone during his life, his relationship with power, and what he considers a crisis of the Albanian male model.
“I’ve changed completely,” says Spahiu, talking about himself and the turbulence that, according to him, has influenced the way he sees life, people, and himself today.
“What does power do to a man?” is one of the questions raised in this conversation. For Spahiu, power is not just a position or privilege, but a test that can reveal a man’s true face.
This idea goes even further when he talks about Albanian men. “Albanian men in the majority are ignorant and mediocre. The streets of Albania are full of scum. They dress like Arabs, they are lazy. They don’t know how to shave, their beards hang down all the time,” he says.
At another point, Spahiu ironically summarizes the lifestyle that he attributes to some Albanian men: “The life of an Albanian man revolves from the car wash to the garage. How do you become a millionaire, lift the can and scratch your belly?”, he asks, using this example to talk about the contrast between wealth, style and culture of behavior.
