Former Democratic MP, Ervin Salianji, expressed his conviction that Prime Minister Edi Rama and the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, met yesterday at Rinas Airport, as the head of government arrived from the US, while the opposition leader traveled to Strasbourg.
In the interview with News24, the former Democratic MP emphasized that Republican Guard employees have also been threatened due to information that emerged that they met yesterday in complete secrecy.
“They are threatening the guards because they brought me information about my dismissal. This gentleman must say why he serves Edi Rama and whether they made an agreement. They have threatened him because information has come out that they met. And these guards tell me that we have been threatened. Both of them were in Rinas at the same time. Edi Rama was in Rinas, and when this other gentleman went to the USA, Rama shot again. How did it happen twice in the same period. It just so happened that Rama’s press conference was delayed by an hour or so,” said Salianji.
He then added that the opposition should have stood up for the scandal affecting SHISH and called for protests. He stressed that the leader of the DP serves as Edi Rama’s crutch and that if it weren’t for him, the prime minister wouldn’t have lasted even two months in power.
“Tell me a little bit what the opposition should do according to the citizens, except react strongly. Stand up for the internationals and say look what is happening to Albania. It was taken to parliament. Here the head of the service was caught serving criminal groups. How is it possible to raise a protest to stand up for Albania. Is there a prime minister who is behind these scandals if there is no such opposition. If I led the opposition and stayed like this, the state would rot and I would go to Strasbourg for tourism. Sali Berisha is the obstacle to Edi Rama being overthrown today. If he leaves and paves the way for restructuring, Edi Rama would not last more than two months,” he added.
