“Vlora Hyseni” file, the reaction of the Socialist Party to the sensational issue comes, here’s what was said

The Socialist Party has made its position clear regarding the investigation against the former director of the State Intelligence Service, Vlora Hyseni, demanding that the matter be left to the justice institutions and especially SPAK.

The position of the socialist majority emphasizes that any suspicion raised by the prosecution must be investigated and clarified to the end, through an independent investigation and trial process, without institutional interference or overlap.

The SP argues that the Assembly cannot use the instruments of parliamentary control to duplicate or replace the powers of the prosecution, to verify evidence, to determine criminal facts or individual responsibility. “Let the system do its job,” says the majority position, which also refers to the statement of the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, that investigations against officials are proof that the justice system is functioning.

The Socialists also emphasize that they will not advocate for any official facing justice, regardless of whether they were proposed, supported, or voted for by them.

“Everyone is innocent until the final judgment, but no one is above the law in any case or for any reason,” the SP’s position states.

Regarding Hyseni, the majority considers her immediate dismissal from office as an example of this approach, while attributing the responsibilities for the functioning and control of SHISH to the institutions defined by law, from the Prime Minister and the President, to the Assembly, the Inspector General, the Supreme Audit Institution and the judicial bodies.

The SP opposes the Parliament’s interference in the content of the investigation and argues that investigative materials made public sporadically should not be used to influence public opinion.

According to the majority, only the full investigative and judicial process will determine whether there were violations or consequences related to national security or Albania’s international partners.
