A private business in Peshkopi has been targeted by a serious threat, as the owner of the entity has been asked to pay 50 million lek, otherwise the business would be blown up.
As Top-Channel reports, the threat was conveyed through a pizza box, inside which was a demand for a sum of money.
In the same box, several materials were also found that are suspected to be part of a homemade device similar to an explosive.
After discovering the package, police surrounded the area on the outskirts of the city, establishing a security perimeter that was kept under control for about three hours.
Demining and explosives neutralization specialists from Tirana have also arrived in the northern city, while for security reasons, entities near the fuel area have also been temporarily closed.
Due to police intervention, vehicle traffic was diverted and rerouted through the Peshkopia ring road. As part of the investigation, several people were escorted by the police, while actions continue to clarify the circumstances and identify the perpetrators of the threat.
It is expected that the State Police will provide official information about the incident and clarify the nature of the materials found in the pizza box.
