The Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has seized the mobile phone of Ermal Gjinaj, the husband of former Minister of Education and former Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu.
The seizure was carried out by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH), pursuant to a decision by special prosecutor Dorina Bejko.
According to reported information, the action was taken today, October 15, while details on the subject of the investigation that led to the seizure of the device have not yet been made public.
It is also unknown whether Ermal Gjinaj has a procedural status in this case or whether the phone was seized to administer data that could serve the investigation.
The seizure of the cell phone comes at a time when SPAK is investigating several issues related to the activities of public institutions and former senior officials.
We recall that Ogerta Manastirliu herself appeared before the Special Prosecutor’s Office about two years ago, where she was questioned as a person who had knowledge of the issue of the sterilization concession in healthcare.
Manastirliu headed the Ministry of Health before taking over the Ministry of Education.
It is expected that further investigative actions will shed light on the reasons for the seizure and the issue for which Prosecutor Dorina Bejko ordered this action. /skyweb.al
