A serious incident has shaken the province of Cosenza in southern Italy, where four people were found dead inside a vehicle engulfed in flames at a gas station near the Ionian coast.
According to Italian authorities, the alarm was raised around noon after emergency services received a report of a car on fire. After extinguishing the flames, firefighters discovered the four bodies inside the vehicle.
Initial investigations suggest that the victims may be Pakistani nationals, however their identification has not yet been completed. Due to the extensive damage caused by the fire, experts have not yet been able to determine whether the people died before the flames erupted or if they suffered other injuries.
Numerous police forces have arrived at the scene, including specialized investigators and the Carabinieri, who are working to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
According to investigative sources, the conditions in which the vehicle was found do not match the scenario of a normal accident, which has increased suspicions of a criminal event. Security cameras at the gas station and the surrounding areas are expected to be crucial in solving the case.
Authorities are continuing investigations to identify the victims and to understand whether this is an organized murder or an event with other circumstances that are still unclear.
