He hid the cocaine in the olive tree trunk and broke the handcuffs inside the car: How the spectacular escape of the Albanian builder failed
An unusual incident has resulted in the arrest of an Albanian citizen, a construction worker, who was caught with narcotics hidden in a very special place. According to reports from foreign media, the Albanian, who has not yet been identified by name due to ongoing investigations, had transformed the trunk of an olive tree into his “safe” to hide the drugs.
During the search of the area, law enforcement discovered 109.6 grams of cocaine inside the tree’s cavity. Anti-drug experts estimated that this quantity was ready to be processed and divided into about 170 doses, which were then planned to be released on the local market for sale.
What made this operation even more dramatic was the Albanian’s failed attempt to escape. After being caught red-handed by the authorities and handcuffed, he got into the police patrol car, sitting in the back seat between two officers. During the transport, he used a maneuver to free his hands from the handcuffs and attempted to quickly leave.
The officers’ reaction was immediate, neutralizing the suspect within moments before he could leave the scene. After he was handcuffed again, security measures were tightened and he was escorted to the detention facility.
The Albanian builder’s legal situation has now worsened significantly, as new offenses have been added to his file. He faces a number of serious criminal charges, including: possession and concealment of narcotics, illegal trafficking, as well as resistance to law enforcement and attempted escape from police officers. The narcotics were seized as material evidence, while the Albanian is expected to appear in court to be informed of the security measure.
