The protest for the protection of Zvërnec continued this Tuesday in Tirana, where citizens and activists gathered for the third consecutive day against the project that affects the protected area. The rally began at Skanderbeg Square, while the protesters then marched towards the Ministry of Interior and then in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Participants held banners with messages in defense of the environment and against the sale of public assets, while during speeches on the podium, the repeal of the law on strategic investments and the mountains package was called for.
Moments of tension were recorded in front of the Prime Minister’s Office building, where some protesters broke through the police cordon placed at the entrance to the institution.
During the rally, some of the protesters also demanded the resignation of the government, declaring that they will continue to mobilize in defense of Zvërnec and other protected natural areas in the country.
