Over 12,000 violations of road traffic rules have been detected over the last week by the Tirana Traffic Police, as part of increased controls on main roads and areas with high traffic flow.<\/span><\/p>\n

The checks have led to 24 cases of criminal proceedings against drivers, while one driver was prosecuted after attempting to avoid the administrative measure by offering 2,000 new lek to a police officer.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the monitoring, cases of drunk driving, using a mobile phone while driving, not wearing a seat belt, and other violations that endanger road safety were also identified.<\/span><\/p>\n

NOTICE<\/span><\/p>\n

Tirana Traffic Police, continuous checks on connecting axes and those with high traffic, with the objective of preventing accidents.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result of the increased presence of Traffic Police services and monitoring of the axes, with modern logistical means, during the last week the following were found:<\/span><\/p>\n

-12,505 cases of traffic violations;<\/span><\/p>\n

-24 cases of criminal offenses in the field of road traffic, the perpetrators of which were arrested or prosecuted;<\/span><\/p>\n

-Also, the driver of the vehicle was criminally prosecuted after attempting to bribe a police officer by offering him a 2,000 lek note, with the aim of avoiding an administrative measure, for driving without wearing a seat belt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the measures imposed for violating traffic rules:<\/span><\/p>\n

-74 measures imposed for not positioning properly in the lane, a violation which encourages wrong maneuvers and creates chaos in traffic;<\/span><\/p>\n

-12 measures imposed for driving under the influence of alcohol, an extremely dangerous violation and often a source of accidents with consequences for the life and health of road users;<\/span><\/p>\n

-movement by lifting vehicle of 31 vehicles prohibited\/suspended in violation of the provisions of the Road Code.<\/span><\/p>\n

-1562 administrative measures have been imposed for using a mobile phone\/without a seat belt and without a protective helmet for motorcycles.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Traffic Police once again appeals for strict compliance with traffic rules, avoidance of driving under the influence of alcohol or without a driving license, as well as for increased responsibility by all road users, in order to guarantee compliance with road safety parameters.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
