TIRANA – The Albanian government approved on Thursday the deployment of troops to Gaza as part of an international stabilization mission created under the Peace Board initiative of US President Donald Trump. The decision is now expected to be approved by Parliament.

As Defense Minister Ermal Nufi said, Albania will initially send four staff officers to help determine the scale of the country’s future contribution.

In February, Trump said that Albania and Kosovo had committed to sending troops to a stabilization force under the Peace Board initiative. Meanwhile, in April, the president of Kosovo authorized the deployment of Kosovo troops.
