Aleksandër Koçeku was found murdered inside his vehicle on the Prekal–Kir road, in the Dukagjini area.
Koçeku was under investigation for the murder of 20-year-old Pavlin Preka, who was executed on February 27, 2025 near his apartment in Guci i Re.
After this event, Shkodra Police arrested Vasel Koçeku, 43 years old, and Klaudio Lisaj, 20 years old, while Aleksandër Koçeku was placed under investigation as a person suspected of involvement in the crime.
Just a few hours before he was found murdered, the Shkodra Prosecution Office had decided to extend the investigation into the murder of Pavlin Preka by another three months, arguing that there were still investigative actions and expert examinations to be completed.
According to the Prosecution’s file, Vasel Koçeku, Aleksandër Koçeku and Klaudio Lisaj were suspected of having collaborated in the preparation and execution of the 20-year-old’s murder.
Investigators suspect that the conflict was related to Pavlin Preka’s intention to get engaged to Vasel Koçek’s daughter without her consent. The victim also had the girl’s name tattooed on his neck.
The Prosecution’s document states that Klaudio Lisaj had a social relationship with the victim and a family connection with Vasel Koçeku, as the latter’s wife is his aunt.
While Vasel Koceku was suspected of being one of the main perpetrators of the murder, Aleksandër Koceku, his cousin, was suspected of having participated in the event.
The prosecution had requested additional time to administer expert examinations, question witnesses and suspects, and perform other actions necessary to complete the investigations.
Meanwhile, the circumstances of the murder of Aleksandër Koçek on the Prekal–Kir road still remain to be clarified.
