A company founded by Socialist MP Vasil Llajo, and currently managed by his former subordinates, has been announced the winner of a tender with a fund of around 6 million euros for orthopedic equipment for the Trauma Hospital.
The Centralized Purchasing Operator, the structure that conducted the tender, announced in the Public Procurement Bulletin that the winner of the procedure with the object “Purchase of consumables (orthopedic implants) for the Orthopedics Service at SUT”, with a limit fund: 575,217,692 lek, is the company “Layo” shpk, supported by an operator, “Medicamenta”.
Three competitors participated in the tender. In addition to “Layo”, “Ortonet” and “Trimed” were also in the competition. According to official data, the offers of all three companies were very close to the limit fund. However, “Layo” emerged as the winner with the lowest offer, which was still approximately 99 percent of the limit fund.

Established in 2009, the company “Layo” has been controlled for many years by Vasil Llajo. This is confirmed by the name of the company, which sounds similar to the name of the entrepreneur and currently a member of parliament from the ruling Socialist Party.
Company history
Vasil Llajo has operated in the private pharmaceutical market for more than two decades, owning several different companies.
In February 2025, he agreed to join Prime Minister Edi Rama’s list of candidates for MPs. Vasil Llajo was part of the Vlora district list, with political engagement in his hometown of Saranda.
At the end of the elections, he emerged victorious, joining the Parliament. Due to his political commitment, Vasil Llajo decided to sell some of his companies. Among them was the company “Layo” shpk.
On June 23, 2025, just a few days after his positive result in the general elections was confirmed, entrepreneur Vasil Llajo sold the company “Layo” for 150 million new lek (more than 1.5 million euros).
According to official documents, the buyer was Argita Bojaxhiu, born in Berat, but active in the healthcare field in Kosovo.
After the change of ownership, “Layo” shpk continued to receive public tenders. Due to the change of ownership, the situation did not formally constitute a conflict of interest, as long as Vasil Llajo had resigned from the company in writing.
In November 2025, the new owner, Bojaxhiu, decided to resell the “Layo” company. The transaction value was again 150 million new lekë, the same amount she had previously purchased from Vasil Llajo.
The new buyers and current owners are Ani Hasa, with 50 percent of the shares, as well as Rudina Karalli and Genc Kurani, with 25 percent each.
“The Man from Llajo” bought the company
The majority shareholder, Ani Hasa, is a close associate of the founder and former lifelong owner of “Layo” shpk, Vasil Llajo.
Ms. Hasa previously held the positions of Director of Finance and later Administrator of the company, when it was officially owned by the current Socialist Party MP, Vasil Llajo.
In a document consulted by “Boldnews.al”, dated March 3, 2023, it is stated: “The sole partner of “Layo” shpk, Vasil Llajo, decides to appoint Ms. Ani Hasa to the position of Administrator of the company.”
Ms. Hasa held this position for a little over 18 months, until November 2024. She has now returned to the position of main partner, with 50 percent of the shares, in the company where she was once a subordinate of owner Vasil Llajo.
