The Elbasan Traffic Police has intensified controls on urban and interurban road axes with the aim of preventing road accidents, identifying violations of the Traffic Code and increasing road safety parameters.
As a result of the controls carried out during the period 27.07–02.08.2026, 9 cases of the criminal offense “Irregular driving of vehicles” were identified, all for drunk driving. Of these, 3 drivers were arrested, while 6 were processed at large.
Also, during this period, a total of 1787 administrative measures were imposed for various violations of the Road Code, specifically:
301 measures for wrong overtaking;
1000 measures for speeding beyond the permitted speed limits;
32 measures for using a mobile phone while driving;
14 measures for driving under the influence of alcohol;
85 measures for not wearing a seat belt;
58 measures for not wearing a protective helmet;
297 measures for other violations of the Highway Code.
During the week, 3 driving licenses were suspended for various violations of road traffic rules.
The Elbasan Traffic Police announces that controls will continue on all road axes in the district, with the aim of preventing accidents, increasing road safety and punishing any violator of the Traffic Code./vizionplus.tv
