One of the activists participating in the protest spoke from the podium in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, mocking politics and the government, saying how “beautiful” they had transformed Albania with investments, ports, airports, and good things everywhere.
He said that this political class had been deceiving for 35 years and the people no longer trusted them. The activist appealed for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, whom he described as the most corrupt in Europe.
“This is the Albania promised by these people and that never came, this Albania promised by this corrupt political class, but you have lost trust in this political class. Our Albania is a country with fields, mountains and sea, so it is ours and we say to these people: The end has come for you! And after 35 years of broken promises, we are here and we tell you that we no longer trust you,” he said.
The citizen continued his speech by appealing for the overthrow of this corrupt government and for the sovereign alone to decide for the country.
It also called for constitutional changes for legal and political equality for all.
“This country needs us more than ever and to show the corrupt politicians that we are the sovereign in this country. So we tell them that we want the resignation of the most corrupt prime minister in Europe and we want constitutional changes, to listen to the sovereign in this country, which is us, and not to put unworthy people in Parliament. We deserve equal rights and freedoms. God bless the Albanians. The end has come for you,” he concluded.
