Two people have been found dead in an apartment in Portici, in the province of Naples.
The victims are an 82-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man, who, according to preliminary information, were aunt and nephew.
The bodies were discovered in an apartment in Piazzale Divina Provvidenza. According to initial investigations, their deaths are suspected to have occurred several days before they were found.
Carabinieri and emergency teams immediately arrived at the scene and launched investigations to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
According to authorities, the bodies were found lying on the floor next to the bed and were in a state of decomposition. Preliminary examination revealed no signs of violence on the victims’ bodies, and no signs of forced entry into the apartment were found.
By order of the judicial authorities, the bodies have been sent to the morgue of the Policlinico Hospital of Naples, where they will undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Investigators are not ruling out any leads and are continuing verifications to fully clarify the circumstances of this event. According to preliminary data, the bodies may have remained in the apartment for about five days before they were discovered.
