A serious incident has shaken the community of Ravanuza in Italy, where a farmer’s vineyard has been destroyed, in what local authorities have described as an act of intimidation linked to criminal extortion.
According to the reaction made public by the mayor of Ravanuza, the farmer was allegedly hit after refusing to submit to demands for payment from people linked to criminal structures.
Images published on social media show a significant area of the vineyard damaged, while the event has caused strong reactions in the local community.
“The mafia is a mountain of shit. There is no longer room for parasites in Ravanuza,” the mayor wrote in his reaction, considering the destruction of the vineyard a direct attack on the farmer’s work and dignity.
He expressed full solidarity with the affected farmer and announced that local institutions will stand by him.
The mayor has also appealed to citizens not to remain silent in the face of such episodes and that anyone who has seen, heard or has useful information should contact the police.
“Fear is defeated together and the best response is the cooperation of a united and free community. Whoever attacks the work of our citizens attacks all of Ravanuza,” the reaction concludes.
