According to INSTAT data, for a period of three years, the growing phenomenon of violence within the Albanian family has been highlighted.
At the top of the list of criminal offenses analyzed in 2024, traffic violations account for the largest share of total offenses with 16.5%, followed by drug offenses with 8.9%, and domestic violence ranks third with 6.6%.
265 more men showed their muscles to women in 2024 with a total of 2139 cases, compared to the previous year.
During these three years, males account for about 94–95% of those convicted each year and are involved in almost all categories of criminal offenses.
Meanwhile, females account for only about 5% of convicted perpetrators and are mainly involved in criminal offenses such as domestic violence, fraud and abuse of office, illegal construction, and exploitation of prostitution.

If in 2023 the difference in domestic violence cases with 2022 was 24, for 2024 the difference with the previous year was even higher with 228 more cases. Also, punishment has undergone an increasing level where the number of people who have ended up behind bars has also increased.
What these statistics also highlight is the involvement of minors in some criminal offenses in 2024, where out of 1447 cases, a total of 7.8% belong to domestic violence. Cases that have decreased from year to year, but a high involvement of minors compared to all criminal offenses within a year, with a large dominance of girls.
