Bad weather has engulfed the city of Pogradec this Friday afternoon, bringing a quick change from the intense heat that has accompanied our country in recent weeks. What started as a sudden cloudiness and storm has quickly turned into flooding on some of the city’s main streets.
As can be clearly seen from the footage provided on the ground, heavy rainfall has overwhelmed the area, causing drainage systems to become overloaded.
The greatest difficulties are reported on “Dëshmorët e Pojskës” street as well as along the city promenade, where the water level has reached significant levels, occupying the entire passageway.
Footage shows citizens and pedestrians forced to take off their shoes to wade through the water, while others attempt to cycle through water-logged roads.
This drastic change in weather comes after a long period of drought and high temperatures, which were accompanied by numerous fires across the country.
