In a speech delivered today before law enforcement, US President Donald Trump made several strong statements regarding foreign policy and tensions in the Middle East.
Focusing on Iran, President Trump said that Iran is suffering a deep loss and warned of a strong geopolitical movement regarding the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important sea routes for oil transportation.
“After we finish defeating Iran, which is being defeated very badly, I will very soon declare the Strait of Hormuz a territory of the United States,” President Trump declared.
Trump said the US has naval military control in that region: “That’s basically what it is. We have the blockade. No ships go through unless we want them to,” Trump said.
During his speech to law enforcement, Donald Trump presented data on the level of crime in the country, claiming a historic decline in all types of criminal offenses during his term.
Trump stressed that the measures taken by his administration have brought concrete results in public safety. “Last year, there were over 3,100 fewer murders than the year before I took office, 10,000 fewer rapes, and 1.1 million fewer violent crimes. Robberies fell by 19%, car thefts fell by a whopping 23% – and according to the latest data, crime has continued to decline significantly under our leadership in 2026, with robberies down another 20% and homicides down an additional 23%,” Trump said.
