The serious incident that occurred in Fier in July shocked the entire public opinion, when Refit Buzi went to his ex-fiancée’s apartment and shot and killed her parents, while taking the latter hostage for several hours. After many hours of negotiations with the police, he agreed to release Rozalinda Plaka and then committed suicide inside his car.
The conflict, according to the author’s family, arose over a large sum of money, which according to them, their son had previously given to her and which the latter refused to return.
According to the prosecution file obtained by Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha, the couple had separated after a long period together, but Buzi constantly asked the young woman to return. The latter had previously denounced him in 2025 for stalking and the 35-year-old had served several months in prison, but even after his release he insisted that they get back together, even though the girl refused.
According to the file, the harassment of the young woman began immediately on March 19, the day the 35-year-old was released from prison after serving a sentence. Although there was a Protection Order against him, Buzi contacted her from time to time with different numbers. In her report made on April 22, the 23-year-old has confessed the horror she experienced in recent days. She tells how her ex-fiancé constantly waited for her near the Emergency Room of the Fier Regional Hospital where she was doing her internship as a nurse, as well as in the surrounding cafes.
In one of the incidents, she says that Buzi picked her up in his Volkswagen and drove her to a hotel in Novosela. When she refused to get off, he threatened to commit suicide:
“Get out of the car and let’s go inside so I can prove that I won’t touch you without your consent. Either get out or I’ll burn myself with gasoline in front of you or you’ll kill me without anyone knowing and get in a taxi and leave without anyone knowing… I’m not an animal and the actions I took before I went to prison were because I wasn’t mentally well,” he said.
After they left the hotel for lunch, the suspect gave the young woman three ultimatums, making it clear that he would never leave her alone.
“If you want a separation from me, you will not have anyone else in your life, you will wait for me for a period of time from December to June or until August. And the third condition, regardless of how we both end up, it costs you nothing to meet me and have a good time with me. If you do not accept any of these conditions and want a separation, then I will wipe you all out as a tribe and your family will be held responsible,” he told her.
The girl’s mother has requested immediate judicial intervention, stating that the ex-fiancé’s actions are destroying her daughter’s life, health, and education.
Questioned by the investigation team after being caught red-handed by the police, Refit Buzi admitted that he had contacted his ex-partner even though he was fully aware of the protection order.
“I contacted her because I love her and I still feel for her, I want to connect again… I couldn’t leave her alone,” he told the police.
After the next denunciation, the Fier Police arrested him again and seized the mobile phones of both parties, where dozens of messages, calls and voice messages with threatening and offensive content were found./ Top Channel
