After the sudden passing of the former president of the Vlora Court, Skënder Haluc, his cousin has reacted with a strong and emotional message, bringing to attention not only his human figure, but also the difficult period of his confrontation with the justice system.
In a heartfelt dedication, she calls Skënder “not just a cousin, but a brother, a friend and comrade” and writes about a man who, according to her, remained noble and loyal despite everything he experienced.
“Life brought what I could neither imagine nor believe: shedding tears of mourning and words of sadness for you. This, not only because no one expected it, but also because you were… a legend with a human soul,” she writes.
Further, his cousin dwells on the confrontations that Skënder Haluci had during his professional life and speaks in strong tones against those who, according to her, influenced his departure from the justice system.
“They are the ones who condemned you, the ones who isolated you, the ones who removed you from the justice system, the ones who abandoned you when they should have been there for you, and the ones who replaced you with a sycophantic servant of the oligarchy,” she writes.
In another part of the message, she uses even stronger language, linking his fate to what she considers an injustice done to him:
“Well, if the Kanun were to be installed in its entirety, it would be precisely these wretched people who killed you without trial, weakening a noble heart to the point of breaking.”
But beyond anger and pain, her message is above all a tribute to the man who, according to her, was not defeated by difficulties.
“There are people you can remove from a task, from a system, from an office, or even from this world, but you can’t remove them from the memories of the people who knew and loved them.”
And in the end, she refuses to say “goodbye”, choosing another expression:
“Oh God, dear Skënder.
May we be with God.”
