Following the complaint of an 18-year-old Italian tourist, who claims she was raped at a beach bar.
A 23-year-old Kosovo Albanian citizen has been arrested in connection with the case.
According to the 18-year-old’s testimony, the incident occurred on a sun lounger at a popular beach bar on the island, where she was with the 23-year-old.
The young woman stated to the authorities that she had consumed a large amount of alcohol and that she was in a state in which, according to her claim, she was unable to resist.
She accused the 23-year-old of taking advantage of her condition and having sexual intercourse without her consent.
Following the complaint, the police launched investigations to identify and locate the suspect. After verifications, the authorities managed to identify the 23-year-old, who was found in the Platis Gialos area and arrested.
