A strong statement by lawyer Zace Islami has sparked debate in public opinion, after he claimed that the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, was given an ultimatum by the United States of America.
According to Islam’s claim, the message coming from the American side was direct: “Either arrest the politicians, or you will be arrested.”
The statement immediately received attention, due to the gravity of the accusation and the fact that it directly affects the functioning of the Albanian justice system, relations with international partners, and the independence of the new justice institutions.
The lawyer’s claim has sparked numerous reactions and questions, especially regarding the way he portrays the role of the United States in relation to SPAK and its leader. If such a claim were true, it would raise a serious debate about the limits of international support and possible interference in the decision-making of Albanian institutions.
