New adventures for Jacques Moretti, co-owner of the Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, where the deadly fire that shook Switzerland on New Year’s Eve took place, has been arrested after raping his wife, Jessica.
According to Swiss media, the incident allegedly occurred on the night between August 11 and 12, and the woman was injured and had to be taken to hospital.
The new case comes as the couple is already facing Swiss justice over the fire at Le Constellation, the bar they ran in Crans-Montana.
Jacques and Jessica Moretti are among those being investigated by prosecutors over the circumstances of the deadly fire.
Jacques Moretti was placed in provisional detention on January 9, after judicial authorities considered him a flight risk. On January 23, he was released after posting a bail of 200,000 Swiss francs, remaining under restrictive measures.
It is recalled that the fire at Le Constellation broke out during New Year’s celebrations. According to the investigation so far, the flames appear to have started when sparks from fireworks, which were placed in bottles, ignited the soundproofing material in the basement ceiling.
Authorities are investigating, among other things, whether established fire safety rules were followed and what responsibilities the owners and other persons involved have.Top Channel
