US issues strong WARNING for Iran: “Countries that do business with Tehran will also be hit”

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has warned of a broad economic offensive against Iran, declaring that the US is entering the “endgame”.

In an article published in the Financial Times, Bessent said that “an economic D-Day” is approaching for Tehran, calling it the “largest financial offensive” ever undertaken against an adversary.

According to him, Washington’s objective is to cut off the economic lines that support the Iranian regime and leave Tehran without financial support from abroad.

Bessent issued a direct warning to countries and companies that continue to cooperate with Iran. He accused “Iran’s enablers” of buying and transporting Iranian oil, facilitating fuel transfers through sea lanes, and allowing their banks to be used for transactions that the US considers illegal. “Consequences” for continuing this cooperation are expected to be part of the measures the Trump administration may announce.

Bessent’s comments come just days after President Donald Trump himself warned of an “economic D-Day” against Iran. Trump has threatened that countries that continue to do business with Tehran will face “tremendous economic consequences.”

The US administration is trying to increase economic pressure on Iran to force Tehran to return to the negotiating table.

Bessent also issued a stark warning to Iran itself. According to him, if Tehran chooses to respond militarily to US economic measures, Trump will react “swiftly and decisively.”

The Treasury Secretary’s statements are expected to gain more clarity during his press conference, where the US administration may reveal new details on economic measures against Iran.Top Channel
