In a few lines, Demo presented him as a health professional, trying unsuccessfully to hide what the Beratans already knew: Hysen Buzali, the former nurse, had become a millionaire in euros.
In the staged footage distributed by the prime minister’s office, no footage of any greeting meeting between Rama and Buzal appeared. However, in decision-making circles, signatures are more important than photos. This happened between the mayor and the youngest socialist MP.
Rama, hotel permit in Qeparo for Buzali
At noon on February 27, 2025, on Prime Minister Edi Rama’s desk were files for a total of 59 construction permits, which had to be approved by him, in his capacity as chairman of the National Territorial Council (NTC).
Among the group of files, there was also the application of a married couple from Berat – Hysen and Frida Buzali – for the construction of a hotel in the Qeparo area, in the Municipality of Himara.
At that moment, Hysen Buzali, a former nurse from Berat, had made a name for himself in Tirana, having some time previously purchased the private “Continental” Hospital for 1.8 million euros.
But, no one knew that, just two months after Rama signed the permit for the Buzali hotel on the Qeparo coast, the (former) millionaire nurse would appear in a Berat hall as the Socialists’ candidate for the new Albanian Parliament.
Rama “Rises the Sun” for Buzali
According to documents consulted by ” Boldnews.al “, Hysen Buzali and his wife will build a 3-story hotel, with three parking floors on land by the sea, in the Qeparo area.
According to the details described in the building permit application, the building will be built on an area of 906 square meters. The plot is adjacent to the pedestrian zone. It is located 160 meters from the center of Upper Qeparo and only 16 minutes from Borsh beach.
The name of Buzali’s new investment is “Sunrise Hotel”.
The project, described in the permit application, shows a building that is adjacent to the coastline and, apparently, is a complex consisting of three separate buildings, with a total construction area of 2052 square meters.
Millionaire nurse
In the parliamentary elections of May 11, 2025, in the Berat Region, the most voted candidate on the open list of Socialist Party candidates was Hysen Buzali, with 8209 votes. And this support seems to be no coincidence. After being elected MP, Hysen Buzali declared assets worth millions of euros to the HIDAKPKI, with alleged sources of gifts, income from parents, salaries and the sale of real estate.
