Another shocking incident has been recorded in northern Greece, just days after the serious crime in Athens, where Albanian Altin Allmuça shot and killed 45-year-old Albanian Julieta Obzova and then took his own life. This time, another Albanian family has been involved in a serious tragedy, where a 53-year-old man has massacred his wife with a knife.
The serious incident occurred in the Rhodope Mountains area, where a couple of Albanian origin, parents of three children, were involved in a violent conflict inside their apartment. According to preliminary information made public, the argument between the spouses escalated, ending in tragedy.
What makes the incident even more shocking is the fact that the conflict allegedly occurred in the presence of the couple’s children, who witnessed their father killing their mother.
In the first moments after the incident, the eldest daughter of the family was the one who notified the Greek authorities, requesting police intervention after what had happened in the apartment. After the alarm, police forces and emergency teams arrived at the scene, while the woman was urgently transported to the hospital.
Despite medical intervention and efforts to save her life, the woman was unable to survive her injuries and passed away.
As we reported earlier, the 53-year-old man attempted to commit suicide after attacking his wife. Initial reports indicate that after the tragic act, he consumed gasoline with the intention of killing himself. He is currently in hospital, and his identity and health condition are unknown.
Greek investigators are now trying to uncover what happened inside the apartment and what were the causes that led to the escalation of the conflict. According to initial reports, this is not a completely isolated episode, as there had been problems between the couple before.
A previous incident was recorded in 2022, when the couple was in Heraklion, Crete. At that time, the woman had filed a complaint against her husband for threatening her, while he was handcuffed at the time.
