After hot and dry weeks, rain fell on Tirana for a few minutes on Wednesday morning, when it seemed that the rain would bring a return of coolness, but that did not happen.
Meteorologists predict alternating clear and cloudy skies for parts of our country. In some areas, they are expected to be accompanied by light rainfall. Short-term thunderstorms will also be possible.
But the rains will be short-lived. The Institute of Geosciences predicts they will leave the territory on Thursday.
However, the rainfall is not expected to alleviate the heat of the last few days. Air temperatures are expected to increase slightly. According to the Institute of Geosciences, the thermometer in low-lying areas, measured in the shade, will register 35 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
Mornings and evenings will continue to be hot as the minimum temperature is forecast to be up to 23 degrees Celsius on the coast.
Occasionally, the light to moderate wind may bring coolness and generate sea waves of force 2 to 3.
Meanwhile, the risk of fires has not gone away. Temperatures and drought favor flames and the Institute of Geosciences predicts higher risk on Thursday in the regions of Fier, Gjirokastra, west of Dibra, east of Durrës and Tirana, north and west of Vlora and north and south of Korça.
According to meteorologists, August will end with high temperatures, and September is expected to start the same way.
