Prime Minister Edi Rama has undertaken a surprise visit to the United States of America, which has been accompanied by a complete mystery about the true reasons for this trip. Beyond the uncertainties about the agenda, the newspaper “Sot” has learned that on the one hand, there is talk of personal or family reasons, which often include medical visits and health checks abroad.
On the other hand, every landing of the prime minister on American soil brings back into the spotlight the heavy shadow of the sensational “McGonigal” affair, which continues to remain an open file in terms of fully uncovering the involvement of the highest levels of government.
In this context, one cannot help but recall Rama’s previous episode in New York, for which journalist Robert Papa has made a strong claim: according to him, the Albanian prime minister was detained at JFK airport and held for more than an hour, in an episode that the Pope has linked to the FBI’s interest in the “McGonigal” case, a file that is also being investigated by SPAK.
