Rama: I have no intention of choosing a successor! Here’s where SPAK went wrong

Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced the relaunch of his podcast “Flasim”, with a different interview, where Rama will not be the one conducting the interview, but will answer questions directed at him.

In the excerpts published to introduce the episode, the prime minister dwells on some of the most discussed topics of current political events, including Sazan Island, SPAK, the leadership of the Municipality of Tirana, and his political future.

One of Rama’s statements is related to his political successor. He states that he has no intention of choosing a person to follow him in the political direction. “The one who challenges you and becomes your successor, he must kill you. I personally have no intention of choosing a successor. The moment I cross the threshold of that door, you will be saved from me,” Rama declares.

The Prime Minister also commented on the situation in the Municipality of Tirana, describing the current leadership as a “social, political and economic experiment”.

“The municipality has no head. It is a social, political and economic experiment for a capital to be run without a head,” he says. As for Sazan, Rama has recalled his position on the island’s development project, emphasizing that the property will remain in the ownership of Albania.

“They are not buying the island, nor are they taking ownership of the island. That island will be the property of Albania. I am not the seller of Albania,” the prime minister says.

Rama also spoke about SPAK, criticizing it for the way in which, according to him, the media was used in relation to the people who were later charged.

“This is one of the worst things SPAK has done, using the media to smear those it would indict. This is not done,” he declares.
