In an exclusive interview for the Top Story show on Top Channel, former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi spoke about his relationship with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Thaçi highly appreciated Rama’s visits and support during his detention in The Hague, as well as his role in Albania’s European path. In his speech, former president Thaçi expressed his hope that Edi Rama will find some legal space for Kosovo’s participation on the margins of the summit in Tirana.
“Edi has visited me several times, I am grateful from the bottom of my heart. He has decided to make Albania European precisely through reforms. He is appreciating civic trust and cooperation with international organizations. He is also listening attentively to criticism. Halal is not giving up in the face of difficulties. Albania is moving forward. After Kosovo’s failure at the Ankara Summit, I hope that Edi will find some legal space for Kosovo’s participation on the margins of the summit in Tirana. I was committed to ensuring that nothing bad happens to Kosovo,” Thaçi said.
This is Thaçi’s first full television interview for Top Channel after almost 6 years of detention, and comes just a few days before the announcement of the verdict by the Special Court.
