A 44-year-old man has been arrested in Korça after, while driving an ambulance while drunk, he hit an elderly person who was riding a bicycle near the city library.
The elderly man was injured and transported to the hospital, where he received medical attention. According to initial information, his life is out of danger. After the collision, the ambulance driver himself transported the injured man to the hospital.
Police conducted a breathalyzer test on the driver, EQ, aged around 44, and the result confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and charged with drunk driving and causing the accident.
The investigation team continues to work to fully clarify the circumstances and dynamics of the accident.
