Belsh – A serious incident was recorded this morning in Belsh, where a 32-year-old OSHEE employee lost his life while performing his duty.
According to preliminary information from the Police, at around 09:30, in the village of Trojas, citizen Klajdi Zekthi, 32 years old, is suspected of having come into contact with electricity while carrying out work to repair an electrical line.
As a result of the electric shock, the 32-year-old man lost his life. Doctors attempted to resuscitate him at the scene, but were unable to save him.
According to local residents, the worker had climbed onto an electric pole to perform the work, while the area was without power at the time. Residents claim that the power was restored while he was working, causing the fatal contact with electricity.
This evidence raises questions about how the power outage was managed and safety procedures were implemented during network work. However, the exact circumstances of the incident and whether there were any breaches of safety protocols remain to be determined by the investigation.
The incident in Belsh comes just hours after another tragic accident that resulted in the death of an electrician in Margllic, Patos. 46-year-old Ermal Debrova, originally from Elbasan, lost his life while working on an electric pole.
In connection with the incident in Patos, the Police have escorted four people to the Fier Police Station, who are being questioned as part of the investigation to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
The two tragic events, which occurred within a very short interval, bring to the fore the issue of occupational safety for employees in the electrical sector, as well as the importance of rigorously adhering to technical and safety procedures during network interventions.
