Behgjet Pacolli’s Mabco company has officially accused the Albanian government in the Court of Arbitration of taking away the Vlora airport to give it to Israeli businessman Ron Yeffet.
The sensational claim is part of the lawsuit that Mabco has filed at the Court of Arbitration in London to request a security measure over the termination of the contract by the Albanian government.
It is not known where Pacolli’s company based its accusation that the government is breaking the concession to give it to Ron Yeffe. But the news was confirmed to Kapital by two confidential sources within the State Attorney and the Ministry of Infrastructure, who have read the document.
According to them, Pacolli’s lawyers have even told the Court that Ron Yeffet is a businessman who has close ties to the Albanian government.
Mabco has hired the renowned American law firm Patton Boggs as its legal representative in its clash with the Albanian government. Patton Boggs’ lawyers arrived in Tirana a few days ago, where they participated in a joint meeting between Mabco, VIA and 2A Group with the Ministry of Infrastructure.
This was the parties’ first attempt at reconciliation, after the government announced the initiation of the procedure for terminating the concession.
This is the first phase of the arbitration. The court is now, according to the procedure, expected to very soon ask the parties to submit the main claims. /Kapitali
