Serious video, family members approach the driver and… the shocking moments of the fatal accident of the passerby

While dilemmas and contradictory arguments are used by parties in court to escape criminal responsibility, the roads continue to produce the same reality: alcohol, speed, and carelessness that often turn into tragedies…

The same serious scene is this event from a year ago, which took place in the capital.

Myslim Hyka was walking near the sidewalk when he was hit and thrown several meters into the air by a vehicle that, despite being in an urban area, was traveling beyond the permitted speed limits.

“In quite a few cases, in practice it happens that tragic events with loss of life are caused by pedestrians themselves who do not respect the rules of the road. This does not leave vehicle drivers without responsibility, as even in cases where pedestrians are found not to be moving regularly on the road, they must show caution.”

The impact occurs in a matter of seconds. There is no time to react. The pedestrian is suddenly confronted by the vehicle, while the citizens nearby are stunned by what they have just seen.

Immediately after the accident, people rush to the scene to help the injured. In a matter of moments, an ordinary area of the city turns into an emergency scene.

This accident highlights one of the biggest road safety issues in Albania: the ongoing conflict between vehicles and pedestrians.

The pedestrian is the most vulnerable road user. Unlike the driver of a vehicle, he has no airbag, no seatbelt, and no other protection than his own body. And when faced with several tons of moving metal, the consequences are often tragic.

“You see, we see every day that the same Albanian drivers who go and drive abroad, or when they come to Albania for vacation, have a completely different behavior on the road. And this does not mean that in Italy you are punished more. Because in Albania you always have the tendency that even if the police catch me, I will find a way”, said Gedeon Dudushi.

“In judicial practice, the types of violations that are most frequently found in the field of road violations are those of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to respect safety distances between vehicles, or exceeding speed limits. Cases of wrong entrances and overtaking on the road are found and, in some cases, there is also the use of a mobile phone while driving”, said the judge, Xhuljo Doku./Top Channel
