Indrit Dokle, once one of the main names of the Durrës Gang and rival of Lulzim Berisha, has returned to the center of judicial investigations for a series of serious criminal events.
Dokle had initially received a life sentence for serious crimes, including the murder of opponents. But years later, his sentence was changed to 25 years in prison by Judge Enkelejda Hoxha, who had previously been convicted by the court for other matters. This decision also paved the way for his conditional release by the Kruja Court in 2020.
After his release from prison, Dokle was forced to report to the Probation Service. However, his name would not remain out of the dark chronicle for long.
One of the strongest clashes in which he was mentioned was with Ervis Martinaj, one of the most well-known characters in the world of crime and gambling in Albania.
The conflict between them deepened during a period when Martinaj had opened several fronts of conflict with other criminal groups. One of the events that further tense the situation was the murder of former police officer Xhelal Reçi, who was the uncle of Indri Dokle’s wife.
Another element that shed light on the Dokle-Martinaj conflict came from the testimonies of the repentant justice Nuredin Dumani.
According to Dumani, Ervis Martinaj had offered 500 thousand euros to kill Indrit Dokle.
In this case, Martinaj was charged with providing the conditions and material means to commit the murder of Dokle, as part of a structured criminal group. The same charges were also brought against Elvin Merlikë, considered one of Martinaj’s close associates.
When Ervis Martinaj disappeared without a trace in the summer of 2022, Dokle’s name was mentioned among the people questioned in the case.
But the investigations against him did not end there.
Indrit Dokle is now officially under indictment in the “Revanshi” operation file.
One of the charges is related to suspicions of providing the conditions and means for the murder of former socialist MP Arben Ndoka, who is also a wanted person. For this episode, Dokle is suspected of collaborating with Durim Bami.
Another part of the file relates to Tori Xheçukë and Erigers Mihas, both known for their connections with Ervis Martinaj’s group.
In this case too, Dokle is accused of providing the conditions and material means to commit the murder within the framework of a structured criminal group.
Xheçuka is currently wanted, while Erigers Mihasi was killed in November 2021 in an assassination attempt in the Unaza e Re area in Tirana, along with Armando Dumani.
According to data obtained during the investigation, after his release from prison, Dokle is suspected of establishing connections with powerful names in the criminal world in Durrës and Fier.
There have also been suspicions that he may have been sheltering in Dubai for a period.
Thus, just a few years after his conditional release from a sentence that was initially life imprisonment, Indrit Dokle is once again facing serious accusations from the judiciary, this time as one of the names involved in the “Revanshi” file and in the investigations into clashes between some of the most well-known criminal groups in the country.
