Assassination in Athens, 25 bullets in the cafe/ Here’s what Denis Luli said to the waiter before the attack

Greek authorities suspect that the armed attack on a cafe in Agios Panteleimonas, where a 10-year-old child was injured, is linked to a clash between criminal groups.

According to new information, the four perpetrators arrived at the bar in a stolen vehicle last Thursday in the Vrilissia area. They fired about 25 bullets with a Kalashnikov, while after the attack the vehicle used for the escape was found burned in Aspropyrgos. The weapon was also found inside it.

A 10-year-old girl, the daughter of the partner of the owner of the bar, 30-year-old Albanian Denis Luli, was injured in the leg by the shooting. The child was taken to the hospital by her mother.

Officers from the Directorate for the Fight against Organized Crime are investigating the possibility that the attack is part of clashes between rival groups, which are suspected to be related to drug trafficking. The possible involvement of Albanian prisoner Klodian Lekocaj is also being examined as part of the investigation.

Denis Luli is known to Greek authorities for his criminal record. In 2016, he was involved in a case related to a large marijuana plantation in Arta, where he shot at police officers and escaped. He was arrested about two years later.

In 2021, Luli was released from Malandrino prison with restrictive conditions, while in 2025 the police were again involved in a case related to a small amount of drugs.

So far, Luli has refused to provide authorities with information about the incident. However, according to sources, he allegedly warned a bar employee that, if anyone asked for him, he should pretend he hadn’t seen him.

Investigations to identify the perpetrators and clarify the motives of the attack continue. /Top Channel
