New details have emerged from the major anti-drug operation finalized over the weekend in Tirana, after four months of investigations.
Media sources indicate that the arrested individuals and those wanted for allegedly distributing narcotics near schools in Tirana were also operating in the outskirts of the capital. Specifically, it is reported that the 31 arrested individuals, who are said to have operated in eight groups, were selling drugs in Lapraka, Braka, Jordan Misja, Selitë, Yzberisht, Allias, Treg Elektrik and Qytet Student.
It is also reported that in each of the aforementioned groups, 3 to 4 people acted as drug dealers. When these people did not have narcotics available, it is said that buyers were directed towards other groups in the same network.
As we reported yesterday, the activity of selling narcotics very close to 9-year schools has been discovered through infiltrating agents and stimulated purchases, with a particular focus on the sale of narcotics near schools. Thanks to the investigations carried out, the authorities were able to arrest 5 people suspected of being suppliers of the network, who were suspected of providing heroin and cocaine for distribution.
Ferit Xhani is one of the people who had the role of supplier in Tirana schools. He is not an unknown name for the state police as he has previously had criminal records related to the distribution of narcotics and assault.
Engrid Hënaj, who previously served as a police officer, is also on the list of those arrested. But in a case where she was arrested for theft, she was also released by the state police. The action closed the day before yesterday focused on the main 9-year schools and high schools in Tirana.
According to information available to Newsbomb.al, agents were involved in it using active methods, making 78 purchases of small doses of drugs, in various points in Tirana, to make it possible to disrupt the trafficking and distribution network.
