Investigations into the suspects in the murder of Artan Myrtaj in Saranda, known as ‘Tani i Rruzhdiut’, appear to have uncovered a plan for another assassination in Lezha, suspected of being paid for settling scores and revenge.
The planned murder was prevented by the Lezha Police, who arrested three people as part of the operation codenamed “Details”.
There are strong suspicions that the arrested persons belong to the same criminal group that executed 44-year-old Tani i Rruzhdiu in Saranda on September 20, 2026.
It is suspected that this is one of the most dangerous and active criminal groups in Kamëz, focused on crimes against life, mainly contract killings and elimination of opponents, kidnappings, trafficking, money laundering, etc.
According to the police, two of the arrested were traveling armed and wearing diving suits on a motorcycle stolen in Sweden, on the old “Pllanë-Lezhë” road, while the third person helped them leave the area by vehicle.
Elden Tarja, Kristian Ymeri (Shkambi) and Vinçesk Piroli were stopped on the “Gjadër-Barbullush” axis. During the checks, the police seized 3 pistols with magazines and cartridges, as well as the vehicle and motorcycle used in this case.
The arrested are aged 25, 34 and 38. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action, but the file will most likely be passed on to SPAK, as there are all the elements of the existence of a structured criminal group.
Currently, numerous checks are being carried out in several cities, including Shkodra, Laçi and Kamza. The arrest of the three individuals is considered of great interest for the discovery and documentation of the full activity of the criminal group.
