Five Albanians arrive from Tirana at Turin airport, police check takes an unexpected turn

Five Albanians disembark from a plane in Italy, the police stop them at the airport, a detail that led to their return to Tirana. Five Albanian citizens, who had traveled from Tirana to Italy, were not allowed to enter Italian territory after checks carried out at Turin international airport.

The event was reported on October 9 by local Italian media outlet Il Risveglio.

According to the report, the five Albanians, all in their thirties, had arrived at Turin Caselle airport on two different flights from the Albanian capital.

During documentation checks by the Italian Border Police, deficiencies were found in the documents and guarantees required for entry and stay in Italy.

In particular, the travelers did not have sufficient documentation to prove the purpose of the visit, did not have hotel reservations or hospitality declarations, and did not have sufficient financial means for their stay.

Also, according to the authorities, they did not have return tickets to Albania.

Because the five Albanians did not speak or understand Italian, the police requested the assistance of a translator to complete the verification procedures.

After reviewing the situation, the authorities decided to refuse their entry into Italy.

All five passengers returned to Albania on the first available flights to Tirana. /noa.al
