TIRANA – The newly appointed Minister of Internal Affairs, Ervin Demo, has asked the leaders of the State Police to release the detained students.
Sources told ZĖRI that this was an intervention a few minutes ago by Demo, who requested that the students be released to be ready to participate in the auditorium tomorrow.
Another message from Demos, sources for ZËRI inform, is related to the use of tear gas, where the minister has requested that it be used only in extreme cases. These two requests come at the height of clashes between the Police and protesters on Durrës Street, in front of the Ministry of Education./ZËRI
TIRANA – Tensions continue on Durrës Street, where protesters have lit fires in the middle of the street. Exclusive footage obtained by ZËRI shows the moments when students are now inside the premises of the IuteCredit branch, which is completely in flames.
As seen in the footage, protesters remove furniture from the branch premises and then throw it into fires lit in the street.
The situation remains tense, as fires and smoke have filled Durrës Street and Mine Peza Street. The students have been protesting for more than four hours and despite police efforts to disperse them, they have returned and are continuing their resistance./VOICE
