Who is Eric Wendt?
Wendt is a senior military figure with over 30 years of experience. He enjoys a prominent international profile, specializing in the field of national security and special operations. Wendt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Society from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master’s degree in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
He has served as an active duty Army officer since 1986. He served nearly five years in the Infantry and has since served as a Green Beret, a Special Forces Officer since 1991. Since September 11, Wendt has served in Indonesia as a Team Leader for the Commander of U.S. Pacific Command, Pacific Situation Assessment Team (PSAT), in Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippine (OEF-P) in Mindanao in the southern Philippines, on two tours of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan (OEF-A).
In addition to numerous staff positions, including serving as Principal Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense, he has commanded at every level of Special Forces from Team A (ODA) to the Joint Theater Special Operations Sub-Command (TSOC).
