Artan Hoxha comes out with a strong warning: Edi Rama is the most at risk from the protests, here are the ‘threads’ that keep him in power and the great danger that threatens him once he falls from the prime minister’s chair. The
well-known investigative journalist, Artan Hoxha, has commented on the latest political developments in the country, focusing on the protests that have dominated the public debate for more than a month. While invited to a television studio, journalist Hoxha made strong statements regarding the political situation and the consequences that, according to him, it could bring for the government. According to the journalist, Prime Minister Edi Rama is the politician most at risk from the escalation of the protests.

He stated that, under these conditions, Prime Minister Rama has no opportunity to resign, as according to him, he is aware of the consequences that may await him after leaving office. Mr. Hoxha argued that the Prime Minister is more exposed than any other political figure due to the responsibilities he has taken on during the years of government. In his analysis, he emphasized that behind Rama stand important interests and strategic investors, who, according to him, have been a factor in supporting the government.

Journalist Hoxha further emphasized that it is precisely these connections that make the situation even more complicated for the head of government. He also stated that the protests are showing a new level of civic awareness and that their echo has gone beyond the borders of Albania. According to Hoxha, citizens are taking to the streets for concrete causes, which, according to him, constitutes an important development for democracy in the country. During the interview, he also criticized the way the main political parties function, describing them as blocked by their leaders. Hoxha stated that neither the majority nor the opposition are showing signs of a real reflection on the demands of citizens.

Excerpt from the statement of journalist Artan Hoxha

“It is true what Preçi said that these traditional parties are trying to reflect on the demands. Is this reflection serious, is it sincere? If I take the first Berisha, even if he is sincere, you can’t do it to me now. Even if he is sincere, 35 years you can’t tell me “yes of course”, then another 35 years you will tell me something else. What does this mean now? This is a piece of shit, a person is gone, do you understand? Excuse me, what did you do? What does this mean? You are 35 years old, since in the protest they are saying they need a new Albania, he took some young people there to the party and put them in the leadership.

But Berisha is still there. At this moment, whoever he puts in there, there is no escape. That party is atrophied. On the other hand, Preçi rightly says that there may be movement within the party. But since you are an old boss in the socialist party, that it is no longer a socialist party, in fact, it is a party of directors. Could there be, are you the boss there anymore, a voice that can be raised? I say there could be, I think there could be people there who take over with a project of support, but there is none. Every Rama, the other request, they have atrophied them, there is none at all. Didn’t Ylli say that before the show? I took them one by one, they are not coming. He gave the order “come out”. He is saying “come out yourself”. I have atrophied like in the labor party, I have not recognized that now people, but even in the labor party people came out against the labor party when the moment came, they were ideologized.

Yes, we cannot expect to go straight like the Labor Party. No, no, you now have 35 out of 40. Exactly, that’s what I’m saying. The time has come for the first protest that took place on Tuesday that went to Parliament. I’m telling you, I looked at the protesters. I looked at the protesters and they didn’t know the MPs. They go to the MP there because they know that they are not MPs but are appointed. Exactly, I’m not saying that this is not a thing. Now, I’m not saying that this is the way. I’m saying that this can happen, which makes it easier.

Yes, and if they become MPs, they will remain in the streets because I think that these people do not… the fact that the European media are seeing Albanian citizens coming out and protesting on environmental issues shows a very high awareness. It seems that Rama himself saw it when he spoke yesterday, he first said that this is a sign of protest democracy, finally he turned around and moved on to the next part.

But we happened before this fact and the problem is, and I agree that when the river comes out, it takes everything, it takes stones, wood, it takes everything there. But we are facing the fact that Rama in these conditions in this situation will not resign because he does not even have the opportunity. He does not have the opportunity to resign because he knows what awaits him more than all those who are being asked to leave the political scene. The most endangered is Rama, not Berisha, because he knows what awaits him. He is the man who has become a guarantor for strategic investors for the interests of the countries that have helped him stay in power”, declared, among other things, journalist Artan Hoxha in the studio of the show “Paekzpozuarit” on “MCN TV”.
