The fires burned everything! Police arrest the well-known Mayor, what happened is serious

The mayor of Stilda in Greece, Ioannis Apostolou, is one of two people arrested for the large fire that broke out in Boeotia and within a few hours, grew to uncontrollable proportions, reaching as far as Attica.

According to information from “Protothema”, the mayor’s construction company was allegedly responsible for building the electricity transmission network that allegedly caused the fire.

The network transmitted the energy produced by wind turbines.

However, as discovered by the experienced leaders of the Directorate for the Prevention of Arson Crimes (DAEE) who undertook the investigation, the project presented failures, with investigators concluding that the fire broke out after sparks caused by two network conductors.

In addition, as sources with knowledge of the case point out, it is not considered a coincidence that a second incident occurred on the same line about a month earlier (June 27). At that time, the fire had broken out just 100 meters from the “ground zero” of the latest disaster and was quickly brought under control, as there were no strong winds in the area.

The mayor of Stilda and another person have been arrested in connection with the case, while the owner of the wind turbines (who was checked for speeding) is also included in the case file.

The defendants face serious felony charges, while the tragic accident involving the collision of two helicopters in Psatha, which killed two people, will be added to the case file.
