Construction of 5-storey building allowed, Himara crime boss arrested, 3 other police officers also handcuffed (NAMES)

After the incident of the construction of an unauthorized 5-story building in Himara, which was demolished by the IKMT, the first procedural actions were carried out by the State Police and they arrested the owner of the building in flagrante delicto.

The Police Supervision Agency continues investigative actions to fully document the responsibilities of the State Police employees involved in this case, specifically;

From the investigations conducted so far, it appears that the chain of command of the police structures of the Himara Police Commissariat was involved in this incident, specifically four employees of the State Police, who are being prosecuted for the criminal offense of “Abuse of Office”, Article 248 of the Criminal Code.

Emiljano Prenga, acting Head of Crimes in Volum, Divjaka Police Station, previously Head of Crimes in Volum, Himara Police Station, detained.

Klodian Petani, currently Crime Investigation Specialist, Vlora Police Station, previously Crime Investigation Specialist, Himara Police Station, detained.

Ferit Merkaj, acting Head of the Traffic Section, Vlora DVP, previously Head of the Himara Police Station, declared wanted.

Redin Çaushaj, acting SPZ, Himara Police Station, declared wanted.

Following the procedural actions, two of the employees declared wanted have appeared and have been detained on their own initiative, while the other two employees have not been found in their homes and, despite notifications, have not yet appeared before the relevant structures.

For the other two employees, procedures have been completed to declare them wanted.

AMP continues investigative actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the case and document legal responsibilities.
